Cheering Up Mondays #400

Today’s cheerful flower is from a plant that for most of the year sits unnoticed in the garden. Then winter comes and it is suddenly in the spotlight.

Jasminum nudiflorum or winter jasmine.

Winter jasmine is one of those easy plants that can sometimes be looked down on as ‘common’ but its unfussy nature and sunshine yellow flowers at the darkest time of year make it well worth growing.

  1. I must go and see if my winter jasmine is flowering. I have noticed the odd flower on my winter honeysuckle, but as I hard pruned that this year I am not expecting many flowers.
