A new and rather special rose for this week’s cheerful flower.
This is ‘Art Deco’, which has just been unveiled as Rose of the Year 2027. I was lucky enough to be sent one to trial.
It’s got clusters of semi-double flowers with touches of pink that vary from flower to flower. The scent is only light but it does have good disease resistance. It’s been bred by Kordes Rosen, who have produced many notable roses. Plants will be available to buy from this autumn.
