This week’s cheerful flower heralds the start of the dahlia season and the first of the 2023 blooms.
They’ve been slow to get going this year but I’ve now got a couple of flowers and lots more in bud. Anyone else think the dahlia season is slow?

What a lovely photo! My ‘Totally Tangerine ‘ has been in flower for a couple of weeks, together with one or two Bishops, but the rest seem to be taking forever. The last few wet weeks have seen a lot more growth though. At least they are still something to look forward to:)
They are really slow this year. I wonder if it was the cold spring that’s held them back. I’ve got a couple of others in flower but the rest are way behind.
