Today is known as Blue Monday, allegedly the most depressing day of the year, so a blue flower that never fails to raise the spirits seemed the best choice for this week’s Cheering Up Mondays.
There’s nothing fancy about these – the term common or garden could have been coined for them – but they are always a welcome sight.
Just as well, as they’ve self-seeded all over my garden – the perfect underplanting for tulips and other spring bulbs.
