Calendula officinalis – otherwise known as the pot marigold – is one of those easy, reliable garden flowers that can light up a dull day. ‘Indian Prince’ is a good variety with a hint of red that adds depth to the usual orange tones. I’ve seen this in several gardens and plan to grow it next season.

someone near me planted these marigolds around the road signs. They are still flowering now and brighten up the muddy grass verge
