There’s no doubt that gardening is good for you not least because I increase my step count going backwards and forwards across the garden to fetch tools, string, labels and other things I’ve forgotten. The new Genus gardening caddy is designed to cut down on all that wasted effort and time.
Now, I’ve had bags, aprons and other things for carrying gardening tools in the past but none have been as comprehensive as this from Cotswold firm Genus.
(I was sent a gardening caddy in return for a fair review.)
Not only is it large, it also has numerous pockets so the chances of losing that vital, small implement somewhere in the bag are reduced.
In fact there are six inside – one large and five smaller pockets – while there are a further eight on the outside, including one with a zip.
There’s a drawstring pouch that can be detached from the main bag and which has a clip to put it on a belt. There’s also a clip inside for putting keys on.
I particularly like the orange, wipeable interior – no more hunting for something that’s hidden in the dark interior of a bag, something I seem to do all too often with handbags.
The long carrying strap is also detachable in case you wanted to just use the handles.
Now the Genus gardening caddy isn’t cheap but, as with everything, you get what you pay for. It’s certainly robust with tough fabric, a waterproof base and well-stitched seams.
If your garden isn’t big, it would be a bit of a luxury but for those with larger gardens, or an allotment where you need to take everything and a packed lunch, it would be ideal.
The Genus Gardening Caddy is priced at £69 and available from Genus website along with other gift ideas.
