Cheering Up Mondays #490

This week’s cheerful flower is a rather unexpected visitor to the garden.

Nicotiana sylvestris.

I certainly didn’t plant this although I did grow some a few years ago after a local plant swap. An unexpected joy alongside a seating area. It’s just a shame it’s started to flower just as the weather has worsened and we’re not able to sit out as much.

  1. All Nicotiana are lovely. I have just one ‘lime green’ that has managed to flower for the third summer and it smells wonderful in the evening. I must get some seeds for next year and also try this variety. Is is scented?

    1. Yes, it is scented – shame the weather’s turned so we’re not sitting out to enjoy it. No idea what the variety is as I got some seedlings in a local plant swap out a couple of years ago.
