Cheering Up Mondays #468

One of the new additions to my garden for this week’s cheerful flower.

Tulipa ‘Algarve’.

This rather lovely tulip is in one of the pots I was given by British Flowerpots (see post about that here). I bought it from Peter Nyssen and it’s teamed with the dainty Narcissus ‘Minnow’. When this tulip fades, the dark purple, double T. ‘Palmayea’ will take over the show.

All the bulbs will be put out into the garden borders when they’ve finished. Repeat flowering another year isn’t always guaranteed with tulips but it’s worth a try.

For a weekly dose of floral cheer, just add your name to my mailing list.

  1. I have a pink tulip this year ‘Mariette’ which is rather lovely. My Palmyra have been open for a while now and sadly getting decapitated by the recent wind and rain.

    1. I grow ‘Mariette’ – it’s gorgeous. I love lily-shaped tulips. Well, all tulips really!
