Cheering Up Mondays #459

A rather intricate winter beauty to start the week with some floral cheer.

Galanthus nivalis ‘Flore Pleno’.

It’s very easy to miss the subtle differences in snowdrops – there’s a reason why some galanthophiles (snowdrop fanatics) go down on their hands and knees to examine flowers. Others have been known to use mirrors on poles to see inside the blooms.

This is just the common double but isn’t it a beauty! Seen at Painswick Rococo Garden on a private visit last week – a perk of my job is getting in before gardens open. There will be more on my trip later this week.

For a weekly dose of floral cheer, just add your name to my mailing list.
