Cheering Up Mondays #428

There’s was really only one choice for today’s cheerful flower, the Rose of the Year 2025, which was launched last week.

Rosa ‘You’re My Everything’.

I spent a very happy day at Iford Manor Gardens for the unveiling of next year’s star rose – it’s always done a year in advance to give retailers time to build up stocks.

The chosen rose was ‘You’re Everything to Me’, bred in the USA by Weeks Roses and represented in the UK by C&K Jones.

It has cream petals that are edged in pink and a golden yellow centre. The pink darkens as the flowers age.

Keith Jones, of C&K Jones, told us that it grows well in a pot or border and should flower from June to November or even December. It reaches around 90cm tall.

It has a wonderful scent – my car was filled with fragrance on the way home. Roses will be available from this autumn.

It was the second time Iford was the setting for the Rose of the Year launch, organised by Roses UK on behalf of the British Rose Trade. You can read about the previous launch here.
