The first of the phlox has opened in the garden.
It’s not a plant that’s really suited to my sandy soil so I grow it in a shadier part of the garden that doesn’t dry out so much.
I’ve no idea what variety it is – another cutting from my dad that came without a name.
For a weekly dose of floral cheer, just follow the blog.
I can’t grow Phlox either. The wilt.
But i remember it from my London childhood when we pulled off a flower and sucked the nectar through the tube. It was very common in London front gardens.
I’ve never heard of doing that with phlox. I think we used to use clover. 🙂
